Spring is upon us! *squints at the blanket of white disappointment outside her window and shudders* Well at least those are the vibes that FabFitFun are putting out there with their Spring 2019 box. Honestly, I’m about it. I’m totally ready to trade in my winter coat and mittens for some rain boots and tulips. Please tell me I’m not the only one that has found this winter to be especially hard. Since December, I’ve been sick with one cold after another, my commute to work is longer now that my office moved further downtown and, in general, I also tend to experience a little bit of seasonal sadness during the winter months. So receiving this box really gave me hope that the light at the end of the tunnel may be closer than I think.
This is my third time receiving a FabFitFun box and I am really enjoying the different items I get to try with my subscription. Each box typically contains eight full sized products that are beauty, fashion or fitness related and costs about $59 CAD. I really love that this subscription box includes full sized products because it allows me to continually use and investigate each product to see if it’s something I like. Often sample sizes mean one-time use and it’s hard to gather from that one use if the product works for you or not. The other feature I really love about FabFitFun is that all subscribers are able to pick and choose three items in each box. These items are typically high-end and on trend, which makes the fact that you can pick and choose even better!
Check out what I got in my Spring 2019 box!
Items photographed above include:
- Show Me Your MuMu Brie Robe – $84
- Quay Australia Vivienne in Black/Smoke – $60
- Giadzy Copper Plated Measuring Spoons – $15
- The2Bandits Athens Necklace – $30
- Tula Purifying Face Cleanser – $28
- Ouai Leave In Conditioner – $26
- Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel – $42
- Manna Kadar Champagne Body Scrub – $24
The items in my box this time around totalled over $300, about 5 times more than what I pay for my subscription!
The three sets of products that I was able to pick from this time around were especially exciting. The first set included a MuMu floral print robe, a black and white Deux Lux backpack, and a white Unplug Meditation diffuser. This was a bit of a tough choice for me. Since I already have a really great diffuser, it came down to choosing between the robe and backpack. While the style and colour of the backpack is lovely, the print of the robe was too beautiful to resist. Choosing the robe also allowed me to get rid of my old ratty one that I’ve been holding on to for way too long! The second set of items included Quay Australia My Girl sunglasses, Quay Australia Vivienne sunglasses, Sunnylife picnic set, and Korres brightening sleeping facial mask. This one was a pretty easy choice for me. Quay sunnies are some of the best quality sunglasses I’ve purchased in the past. Since I find that aviators usually work best for my face shape, I went for the Vivienne style. The third set of items included Giadzy measuring spoons, Lavido body lotion, and a mystery item. This one was also an easy pick for me. While I love a good mystery, I prefer them to be in books and movies and not in my subscription boxes. So that ruled the mystery item out (although I would be super curious to know what peeps received). I’m also really loving on my Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter body moisturizer right now, so that ruled out the Lavido body lotion as well. That left me with the measuring cusps, which I am super grateful to have. Who doesn’t need more kitchen utensils, right?
I think this box might be my best one yet! For me, the robe and Quay sunnies alone were totally worth the price of the box. The material of the robe is so soft and luxurious and the floral print makes me feel so feminine and pretty. I can already tell my new Vivienne sunglasses will be a new favourite in the spring and summer. They’re the perfectly oversize and fit my face just right. I’m so excited to try out the rest of products I received and hopefully find some new loves.
